Our Story Main Image

Hello

My name is Tina with Phoenix Farm Girl. I have been a huge animal lover ever since I can remember. I realized my passion for rescuing or helping animals when I was about 8 years old. I found two big loose dogs in the neighborhood and I caught them myself. I put them in my closet to keep them safe and thought my mother would never find out. Let's just say she found out quickly. She put them back outside in the front of our house in hopes they would go home. I was heartbroken. I just wanted to help them.

Helping animals that can't help themselves.

Fast forward to 15 years old, I got my first job. That was the point where I could pay to help animals by myself. This is when I started to drive my father nuts. I was constantly bringing home stray kittens, feral teenage cats, or adopting "Oops! My cat had kittens, do you want one?". I was a sucker for a cat in-need.

I then adopted my very own first puppy that was en route to the pound. I was constantly bringing home stray dogs and helping them back to health and their homes. After I graduated high school, I moved out and then one dog turned into three... then to five... and by the time I was in my 30's, I had ten. After that, I met the pig and I was sold!

I have a huge soft spot for these porky underdogs. According to several rescues 95% of these pigs lose their homes. I love helping animals with behavioral issues and earning their trust.

Making the world a better place, one
rescued farm animal at a time.

Many of the animals have been neglected or mistreated. It is the most amazing relationship once they have trusted you and feel safe to let their guard down. The mutual love is tremendously rewarding and worth it.

I have also enjoyed taking in other farm animals and showing them what it feels like to be loved.

I hope my journey inspires many more to help any animal in need. Every species needs a friend. â€‹

Love, Tina @phxfarmgirl
