Pigs
Pigs are super smart, tend to be outgoing and social, and love having their bellies scratched. Unfortunately, many pigs end up in rescues because of dangerous situations, owner's lack of research on pig's needs or underestimated their sizes. (Mini-pigs will range from 75-300lbs. They are very dense creatures.) Research shows that 95% of pigs are re-homed. One of the many reasons why PHX Farm Girl is special is that we help rehabilitate animals back to health and happiness.
We have several piggy's that require extreme medical and veterinary needs, which we happily provide until their end of life. Pigs prefer to be in groups and form strong bonds with one another, other animals, and humans - and that's good news because we love our curly-tailed cuties. We told our piggy patrons to say, "Cheese!" Meet our rescued pig residents below:

Gomie
My first pig. I saved up for him and fell for the micro scam. I have learned so much and it led me to rescuing pigs. He is so sweet and loving. We enjoyed a 4 day backpacking trip when he was a baby. She has put on weight and is coming around more every day.

Lola found herself homeless when her young pregnant owner had to move out on her own. In 2016, the rescue reached out to me to see if I could take Lola in. She was 2 years old at the time. We went to go pick her up and I fell for her instantly. She was too big to fit in an extra large crate so we came back with a trailer. When I got Lola home and gave her a blanket, I started to cry.
